Sold-Calm In The Storm Oil Painting.

This Oil Painting,’Calm In The Storm’, is my initial response to the reference photo when I first saw it. I was searching on Wetcanvas for something inspirational when I came across the reference photo kindly provided by PETERH. The sky is wild and menacing. The field in the foreground draws us into the church which stands out strikingly against the dark and ominous sky. I knew that I needed to keep my brush strokes loose to increase the feeling of impending storm. For me the church represents my personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ my saviour. I acknowledge that throughout the ages the ‘church’ has not been a safe haven to everyone because it has been bound by religious legalism and the hardness that comes with it, but a personal relationship with God is just the opposite. I encourage you, if you have never talked with God, do so and ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a meaningful and personal way. He changed my life in a way I could never have imagined and I’m glad for it.

Anyway, here is my oil painting, ‘Calm In The Storm’.

Painted with Genesis Heat-set Artists Oils on 16″ x 12″ canvas board, unframed.
